This image taken with the MODIS instrument at different resolutions and investigates the underlying processes of change on our Earth, their manifestation, and how the perception of change can alter (edges are less defined) simply with distance and the spread of space. Monitoring these changes provides an important tool underpinning to both global change research and resource management and sustainability. The MODIS instrument is providing systematic measurements in support of NASA's Earth Science Enterprise providing high quality and well-calibrated satellite measurements that are needed to detect and monitor changes and trends.
