Creating scenes-Superimposed 3D Objects with photo
MCG Dome-Level 7 project (March, year 2003)

The source image

Bring the Environment Image to View Port and setting up the scene matching the source image.
Adding particle systems to create fireworks

Simulating ambient lights from surrounding(e.g. Street lights)

Output

Times spent : 3-4 hours

Living Unit Test-Level 7 project (April, year 2003)

The scenes was set up by using spotlights as wall lamp, with the Self Illumination applied to the geometry. A photometric Light was place at the middle of scene to light up the scenes.

Rendered with Radiosity features (to show the reflection of light from mirror door on the floor)and Grow effect applied to the geometry of wall lamp

Times spent: 2-3 hours

Barry BAR-Personal Explorations on MAX Radiosity (June, year 2003)

Composition of 3D into 2D image with motion blur and lens effect.

The Corridor-Personal Explorations on 3D Studio Volume Light and atmostspheric effect (June, year 2003)

Omni light placed in scenes to simulate the light cast by fire torch, a large onmi light located in center on scene to lightup and scene. The External light that simulating the morning light was applied with the Volume Light Feature.

Times spent: 2-3 hours

Barry BAR-Personal Explorations on MAX Radiosity (June, year 2003)

Other then the spotlights, the lights that used in this scene were photometric lights. The intention on create this scenes is to explore the Radiosity feature of MAX 5 (most clearly shown by the Neon Effect). Thus The scenes was constructed within MAX alone keep the mesh tidy for the sack on radiosity calculations.
NOTE: The Calculations of radiosity and rendering was painful due to the amount of lights used and raytrace materials.

Times spent: 11 hours

Light Balls-Personal Explorations on MAX Radiosity (June, year 2003)

Using the radiosity for the lighting casted by illuminated objects.
Tea House-Personal Explorations-fake radiosity (January, year 2004)

Times spent: 2 Hours

Changed material on darker wall, light color change to be morning blue-ish daylight
Radiosity vs Fake Radiosity

Number of Lights used: 48 Onmi Lights + 1 Direct light
Calculation Times: None
Rendering times: approx 3 Minutes

Number of Lights used: 1 Daylight
Radiosity Calculation times: approx 4-6 Minutes
Rendering times : approx 3 Minutes

Post Production (Photoshop)

Merging the Radiosity on top of Faked Radiosity to cover the weakness of each other

reactor

Using reactor to deform the mesh (according to physics calculation simulating cloth or even metal sheet)reacting to its environments, with the ability to exclude objects from simulation; it offers the simulations that is not possible with physical models.
