This is what Rebecca says:
These are some of the images I am thinking of using for my wallpapers. Some of them I know won't work, but it'd be great if they did...so many images, so little time!!!
I'm doing my portfolio at the moment, and I'm concentrating on the oppositions and contradictions inherent in architectre, ie. interior v. exterior; structure v. skin; body v. built form (machine, building etc); surface v. depth. my interest in these things is the points at which they intersect, sometimes with violence, (for instance Kafka's "Penal Colony"), sometimes with beauty and success (Cyborgs). I want to concentrate on things in this seminar which will support those concepts. Stelarc's and Brian Massumi's work is very interesting in these fields as far as the visiting scholars are concerned, but they're the only ones I know of.
So anyway, what I'm looking at is creating some skins which as the word suggests, are skins, yet which somehow suggest something more, or a going beyond that, not in a graphic or perspectival way, but in a conceptual way. Not sure how yet though. Any ideas?
