things to think about soon
- email invitations to the opening on 11/11, this needs to be done REALLY soon, should there be a pdf like there was for the VFP?
- posters, again like for the VFP?
- it would probably be a good idea to have a poster in the foyer of the state library when the installation is in to let people know where it is
- do we want a press release? will the rmit publicity people take care of this?

interesting archi publications: (please add to this, actually they don't need to be archi pubs specifically)
(i can bring in smlxl if you guys want to have a look, and i've put flesh on hold at the library, but that could take a while to come in...)
another thing about both smlxl and flesh is the fact that (well, in my opinion at least) they integrate their design and content well, there is not really such a distinction between them, and it makes it all the more effective. i think adbusters does this well too, they have really communicative design/imagery etc.
IngerSays: I think this an integral idea that is resident within the ideas of "emergence" - not being so much about a finished "product" as a process of "coming together". Making that explicit will be both the interesting and difficult bit...."The making of the making of" as someone said this morning....
i guess in some ways it is a bit of a cop out to be looking at other publications, but they do give us some starting points i think. it would also be good to look at the previous rmit press archi publications (specifically, but if we can get hold of any more they might be interesting too) both so we have an idea of the format we have to work with, but also because i think they provide some examples of what not to do. that sounds harsh, but i must admit i don't think i would part with money for them... though that cities book you found in the archi dept last week looked pretty good though inger; could you bring that in next tuesday?
IngerSays: Rulla took that one, reminds me I have to ring her! I think the book should look really luscious though, I am always sucked in by eye candy regardless of anything else. SMLXL is great in that you don't have a "contents" page but because of the whole thing being a kind of dictionary or encyclopedia you know where abouts to start looking if you want anything specific. The best thing about that is even though you are looking for specifics you never end up finding them, instead you find all sorts of other things on the way - the geeks call this sort of activity "yak shaving"....
there's also a pretty good essay in the front of flesh, might photocopy it for us when the book actually comes in to the library
