Occasionally you wish to create a WikiName from a single word. The problem here is the lack of words to concatenate. One solution is to introduce FalseCapitalisation/s inside the word, e.g., Zope becomes ZoPe.
A problem with FalseCapitalisation is that it introduces arbitrary decisions into the process of creating WikiName/s --- which letter to capitalise. In turn, this makes it less likely that two authors will use the same FalseCapitalisation. To prevent this problem we suggest a few additional rules.
- When the initial name is an uppercase acronym, capitalise just the
first and last letters. For example, given the acronyms
SIAL,LASER, andRADARwe use the WikiName/sSiaL,LaseR, andRadaR. - When the initial name is not an uppercase acronym, capitalise the
first letter and the first letter of another syllable. Select a
stressed syllable if one exists. For example, given the names
Zope,Plone, andEvolutionwe use the WikiName/sZoPe,PloNe, andEvoluTion.
