Above all, the house is clean!

What about the museum? To what degree did 20th centuary art revolve around the introduction of new and novel kinds of foreign matter? Abstraction arrived, via the path of the SubliMe, only to be followed by filty advertising media, discarded junk and finally, the shit itself.

Thinking about the structure of the house, there's a lot of effort going into creating integrity. We have a closed structure, penetrated by a door, controlled by a key. The transfer between the chaotic outside and the controlled/possessed inside replicates the operation of the body. For our society, both the body and the house are possessed/owned - those outside of these structures are the homeless, the poor (who are, traditionally, also dirty).
